Mithras Liturgy Sunday, December 21 at 6:00 PM
Free to Members of Star Sapphire Lodge. $10 Admission to Non-Members
Star Sapphire Lodge will be celebrating the Winter Solstice this Sunday, December 21st with a performance of the Mithras Liturgy as found in the Greek Magical Papyri and adapted by Brother Rodney Orpheus. Believed to have originated in the 4th century E.V., the Mithras Liturgy is a syncretic invocation of Helios Mithras for the ascent and immortalization of the soul and is a welcome opportunity to affirm a central tenet of the Aeon of Horus: humanitys essential immortality can be likened to the transit of the Sun. Just as the Sun does not die at dusk or need to be propitiated to return in the Spring, so are we ever and always essentially immortal despite the illusion of death. The ritual will be followed by feasting and much celebration. We encourage attendees to bring a potluck item and/or your beverage of choice to share with the group. This event is open to all, and we are requesting $10 for admission.
