For general information regarding O.T.O. membership, visit United States Grand Lodge's Membership page.
Local Body Membership in Star Sapphire Lodge starts at $44 per month (Minerval through First Degree) and increases to $60 per month for Second Degree initiates and above.
We also offer a hardship program for local initiate members who are temporarily unable to pay the full amount. For more details about this program, we encourage you to contact email@example.com.
Initiates who are already members of a local O.T.O. body or who reside 100+ miles from a local body and desire to support our work financially are welcome to become Affiliate Members of Star Sapphire Lodge for $22 per month.
As a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, Star Sapphire Lodge has ceased all in-person activities. All events are now taking place online, and we are conducting at least one event per week. As a way of opening our virtual doors to anyone interested in attending our online classes, we are pleased to offer a class pass for $22 per month. You can also send $22 for a single month or $10 for a single class to PayPal.me/StarSapphireOTO.
Class pass purchasers: to ensure that we have your correct contact information, email firstname.lastname@example.org once you have subscribed. For single class attendees: include a note about which class you are registering for. Participation details will be provided upon purchase. Please allow up to 3 hours prior to the start of a class to receive instructions on how to join us online, and be sure to check your spam folder.
Non-initiates should note that a class pass does not imply, confer, or guarantee present or future membership in O.T.O.
We also offer additional membership options for people within our community who are able to donate at higher levels.
All members of Star Sapphire Lodge are treated as equals, and we make no distinction between members on hardship and those paying significantly higher amounts. With the exception of our Affiliate Members and monthly class pass subscribers, all of our members are classified as Local Body Members.
Membership dues may be paid directly to email@example.com using PayPal, or you may make membership payments using the PayPal subscription form on this page. Monthly subscribers should note that payments will be deducted from their account every month starting from the date your subscription began.
“The first and greatest of all privileges of a Brother is to be a Brother; to have accepted the Law, to have become free and independent, to have destroyed all fear, whether of custom, or of faith, or of other men, or of death itself. In other papers the joy and glory of those who have accepted The Book of the Law as the sole rule of life is largely, though never fully, explained; and we will not here recapitulate the same.”
- Liber CI
Being a dues current member of our local body begins with recognizing the immense privilege that comes with having accepted the Law of Thelema and to taking an active role in empowering Star Sapphire Lodge to serve our members as well as the people of Los Angeles and beyond in more effectively advancing the message of Thelema and the work of O.T.O.
All Local Body Members of Star Sapphire Lodge are welcome to enjoy full access to our online community, including classes and members-only events. In order to preserve the intimacy of our online community, this category of membership is being limited to local initiates only.
Affiliate Members and monthly class pass subscribers are invited to participate in our online weekly events during the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic. The voice and text channels will be open 15 minutes prior to the start of a class and will conclude 15 minutes after a class has ended.
Local Body Membership and Man of Earth Initiation
“All Brethren shall be exceedingly punctual in the payment of Lodge Dues. This is to take precedence of all other calls upon the purse.”
- Liber CI
We require that all individuals seeking to obtain initiation within the Man of Earth Triad at Star Sapphire Lodge become and remain members of a local body.
Not only are membership dues critical to financing our operations, we have found diligent observance of this practice integral to creating and maintaining a stakeholder culture where all members are equally invested in our success.
Members three or more months in arrears must pay at least the current month plus two additional months of dues to become locally dues current. Note that this policy is observed throughout all Southern California O.T.O. bodies.
